A car-filled day with the children of ASSCD of Gombak

Ten kids from the Association of Social Services and Community Development of Gombak, Selangor were treated to a car-filled day with Team FXPRIMUS Aylezo at the Aylezo Garage in Sunway, Malaysia in early September. Organised by the PRIMUS Child Foundation, the children were treated to a workshop tour, simulator games and were chauffer driven in a variety of Supercars that were brought to the garage by friends of FXPRIMUS and Aylezo Motorsport.

Upon arrival, the children were paired up with an ‘FX Friend’ who became their buddy for the day, before changing into team t-shirts. Then the group was divided into two groups of five with one group going for the workshop tour with Team FXPRIMUS Aylezo’s race driver, Zen Low and Team Manager Cheah Lai Sun, while the other group had a few rounds of ‘racing’ with the guidance of team driver, Afiq Yazid.

Rewriting the Future

PRIMUS Child Foundation’s ‘Happy & Healthy Kids’ program for ‘at-risk’ children moved into high gear in Malaysia’s Klang valley in the second quarter of 2012, with a variety of event days designed to impart positive and progressive values and attitudes for acquiring new healthy living skills.

During the month of July, the program ran events that generate bonding skills. The objective was to make sure that the children found reasons to be happy through fun activities that gave them confidence, heightened their self-esteem, brought out their creativity, and gave them a sense of accomplishment.

Making Kids Healthy & Happy

PRIMUS Child Foundation engages with groups of children between the ages of 7 and 12 years old from multiple communities of need, over a 3-month period. Activities include time spent in the outdoors and through their guided experiences, the children are made to appreciate how easy it is to live a healthy and happy life.

A Unique Approach

Since last year, PRIMUS Child Foundation has been getting involved in after-school programs for ‘at-risk’ children, holiday camps, a breakfast feeding program, an awareness walk campaign, mobile interactive learning, and other programs to give kids a semblance of family life. We are also involved in a training program for the administrators of orphanages to give them skills that will help them handle children under their care, more appropriately.

Our first program kicked-off in Malaysia in late 2011, lasting twelve weeks and bringing together 56 kids from three orphanage communities in Puchong, a sprawling outer development in the Klang Valley near Kuala Lumpur, the country’s capital city.

Every Child Deserves to Dream

Companies that operate in the financial world are often associated with a narrow focus on commercial aims; rather than on social values.

But it is important to strike a balance between financial ambition and social goals, in order to give meaning to money.

That’s why FXPRIMUS runs childrens’ developmental and intervention programs, and collaborates with and funds a variety of committed organisations who share the same ideas and goals.
