PRIMUS Child Foundation

After successful stints in Indonesia and most recently China, PRIMUS Child Foundation has added another feather to its cap by venturing into Thailand, the world’s 20th most populous nation. Primus Child Foundation has partnered with Child’s Dream to build a new boarding house for Lion Mahajak 9 Border Patrol Police School.

This new building will house female boarders which currently consist of 44 students. As a second step, an integrated water system will be added into the building as well.

Lion Mahajak 9 Border Patrol Police School is a government school located in the remote mountainous rain forest areas of Mae Tang district, Chiang Mai province. The school serves villages, some of which are 8km away, so some students must board. It has 115 students from the Karen ethnic minority group with 84 of them being permanent boarders. The boarding facility comprises of 3 buildings, 2 for boys and 1 for girls. The building for girls is under a state of despair due to old age and has become unsafe for living hence the dire need for a new building.

PRIMUS Child Foundation will fund the construction of this new facility scheduled to take place from April to August 2013 with Child’s Dream project managing the construction. See here for project details.

The partnership of PRIMUS Child Foundation and Child’s Dream is a symbiotic union aimed to improve and transform lives in Thailand by providing kids with better education opportunities and basic healthcare needs. This is the 3rd country where PRIMUS Child Foundation has stepped their foot in after Indonesia and most recently China.
